Policies at MLC

At MLC, the safety and protection of our students is our top priority. The policies provided here—including our Media and Medical Release forms—help us maintain clear communication with families and ensure that each child’s individual needs are respected. These guidelines allow us to create a secure and supportive environment for learning and growth.

Below you will find MLC's Media Release Policy, the Emergency Information/Medical Release Form, Behavioral Accountability & Detention Policy and Writing Standards Policy.

Writing Standards Policy

Students in grades 3rd through 8th are expected to complete their written work using pen to promote neatness, accountability, and strong writing habits. The use of pencil is permitted only in subjects where it is more appropriate, specifically Mathematics and Art. Students should come prepared each day with the required writing materials in accordance with this policy.

Behavioral Accountability & Detention Policy

To maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment, students are expected to demonstrate self-control and kindness toward their peers and staff at all times. Any form of aggressive behavior will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Physical hitting or striking

  • Kicking

  • Pushing or shoving

  • Attempting to harm another student or staff member

  • Any other form of physical aggression

Students who engage in aggressive physical behavior will receive a minimum of one (1) hour of detention. Our goal is not only discipline, but to help students learn respect, self-control, and responsibility within our school community.
